The Forks of the Delaware Historical Arms Society Needs Your Help!
Your Board of Directors is currently attempting to chronicle the birth and growth of your club.
Unfortunately there exists very few records of our history. Our research committee has contacted one of the founding members, Paul Leaser, who currently resides in Florida. Three other known founding members, Harry Karpen, Chuck Hart, and John Scheid are deceased. We originally reported retired Director Bob Limons was not a founding member. That mistake was made by yours truly, the webmaster. Bob Limons was also a founding member and has given us quite a bit of input. Thank you Mr. Limons. Without the foresight of these individuals, the club would not exist.
We are searching for verifiable dates to record the club's growth. If you have any knowledge of dates for the following phases of our growth, please contact the Club Historian, Bill Klotz. Bill's contact information is at the bottom of this page.
Examples of needed information are dates for the following:
Shows in the 1950's at the YMCA. Remember our club was incorporated in November 1961, but many informal meetings and shows occurred earlier.
Shows at the Easton Hotel (monthly and two day shows)
The year the club moved to the Moose Lodge in Easton.
First and last show dates for the George Washington Motor Lodge in Whitehall.
First show date at the Agricultural Hall in Allentown Fairgrounds.
First and last show date for the summer show at the Fort Washington Convention Center.
Date of moving the summer show to the Agricultural Hall in Allentown Fairgrounds.
Date of first show held after expansion of Ag Hall, providing us with 200+ more tables.
Some of the above information we have, but would like others' input to confirm our information.
Some of our members have had fathers, uncles, or grandfathers as previous members. If you have any written literature, membership books, or anything with information dating to the past, we would appreciate your sharing it with us.
