Giving Back to the Community

The Forks of the Delaware Historical Arms Society is proud of its 45+ year history of contributing to worthy causes.  This page contains just a few examples of our long history of support to our community.

Club Secretary/Acting Treasurer Connie Hoffman was present when Vice President/Acting Business Manager John Lawson presented a grant to John Hershey of the Easton Fish and Game Association, Inc., (EFG). EFG has been teaching firearms safety and marksmanship for well over 70 years to the Marine Corps League, Easton High School Rifle Team, Boy Scouts of America, Civil Air Patrol, Northampton County Junior Conservation School, Lafayette College Republican Club and other organizations to instruct and promote shooting sports of various disciplines. The FDHAS is proud to support these firearms safety programs, which have been particularly popular with women and young people.

In this photo, Ron Gabel, representing the Jacobsburg Historical Society, was present to accept a recent donation. Located in Nazareth, Pa., the Jacobsburg Historical Society is preserving the legacy of the famous Henry family of gunsmiths, a family of inventors, statesmen, and entrepreneurs, who had a major influence on the Industrial Revolution. The society manages fifty acres of living history with the Pennsylvania Longrifle Museum (housed in the families original 18th century homestead). It also manages the original JJ Henry mansion, built in 1832, with all its original furnishings. The site also contains the original family gun works and a walk of history with signs describing the areas many historical points of interest.  You can visit the Jacobsburg Historical Society by Clicking Here.

The FDHAS has a long history of helping many similar non-profit organizations over the years.
